Our Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education is designed to provide graduates with a well-rounded education in communications, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, and the teaching courses required to be recommended for the multiple subject preliminary teaching credential in California, allowing recommended students to teach in Kindergarten through grade 8. Under certain circumstances, the multiple subject teaching credential holder can teach in other grades as well (see the link below).
Since the degree imparts breadth in its scope of subjects, graduates are provided with a liberal studies foundation that affords them the opportunity to thrive in a variety of careers requiring a degree as a requisite for advancement in business or education.
Because this degree utilizes graduate-level credential courses to fulfill a large portion of upper-division bachelor degree requirements, completers of the program can finish a Master of Arts in Teaching at Humphreys by taking just a handful of courses.
