Master of Arts in Education
Master your education with a MAEd from Humphreys University.
Master of Arts in Education
Program Format: Online
In the graduate programs at Humphreys University, we educate motivated and determined students who desire a practical academic program informed by research and theory. Our Master of Arts in Education online program has been designed specifically for working adults – that’s why 100% of the program is online. You don’t have to drive anywhere to show up for class. You study from home, the coffee shop, or wherever. Plus, our classes are asynchronous – you are never required to get online at a specific time.
Our professors are experts in their fields – administrators, teachers, and other specialists. Having been through a master’s program themselves, and in most cases a doctoral program, our professors understand what it takes to blend practice and theory in a graduate-level program. Our professors are active in their courses; they record and post videos, respond to your emails, provide feedback on assignments, and return your calls. Because we keep our classes small – five to twenty students – you get the guidance you need to succeed.
Most, but not all, of the students in the online program are teachers who are enrolled part time. They set aside a 2-3 hours a day to read from their textbooks, watch short videos, participate by posting to discussion boards, and produce written assignments.
The pacing of the courses is consistent – making it easier to juggle the demands of life. All the courses are clearly organized so you know what you need to do each week. Plus, the amount of time you’re likely to devote throughout a week is the same: about twelve hours for a 4-unit course, half that for a 2-unit course. You won’t be caught off guard by a massive assignment. You can plan your graduate education around your life.
You can start the online M.A. in Education program at the start of any of our four terms. Our quarters usually begin the first week of October, January, April, and July. Most students take 4-6 units a quarter. For teachers, the application process is so easy – no transcripts, no letters, no essays, no interview. Just fill out the online application form, pay the app fee, and we’ll confirm your active teaching credential/license – and you’re in!
Students in the MAEd program will be able to…
- Evaluate theoretical educational concepts and articulate how theory informs practice;
- Design projects to gather data to answer research questions and/or solve problems;
- Implement data collection and analyze data for use in education settings;
- Understand the foundations and effects of current issues facing education.
