Work Requirements for MBA Concentrations
Information Technology (MBA IT) and Organizational Leadership (MBA OL) concentrations in the MBA program require participation in work as an integral component of the curricula and, thus, require students to secure program-related work for each term they are enrolled.
It is very important that students understand they must secure work for each term they are enrolled in either the MBA IT or the MBA OL concentration. While there may be terms for which a student fails to secure work, including the first term, it is imperative that such situations be kept to a minimum. MBA 392 Work Practicum is a required course for each term an MBA IT or MBA OL student is enrolled in courses. At no charge, MBA IT and MBA OL students will be automatically enrolled in the non-credit MBA 392 Work Practicum each term of enrollment, regardless of whether or not the student has secured work for the term. MBA 392 is graded as Pass or No Pass. If a student fails to secure work for a term or otherwise does not meet course expectations, the student will receive a No Pass in MBA 392.
MBA IT and MBA OL students who receive three No Pass grades in MBA 392 because of lack of work or for not meeting course expectations will be removed from MBA concentrations that require participation in work as an integral component of the curricula; students who are removed from MBA IT or MBA OL may apply for the MBA General Business concentration, which does not require work as an integral component of its curriculum.
International students must have their employment authorized by a Humphreys University DSO through a completed CPT Agreement prior to beginning or continuing employment.
