Event Hours

Arrival and departure times in your contract will be enforced. We may not be able to accommodate early arrival or delivery of any items outside of the contracted timeframe.
Any set up times must be approved and in the contract.

On the day of your event, you have an 8 consecutive hour window which includes set up, event, and 1 hour of clean up time.
(example: Arrive 3:00, event 4:00-10:00 (guests leave at 10:00), clean up 10:00-11:00)

Insurance Requirements

Renter must obtain event/general liability insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 in coverage and provide the University with a Certificate of Insurance naming Humphreys University as an additional insured no later than two weeks prior to their event.  If renter is serving alcohol or allowing alcohol to be consumed during the event the policy must also include liquor liability. To obtain suitable insurance you can start with your home or auto insurance agency or find a separate company that provides Event Liability Insurance.

Alcohol

If you will be serving alcohol at your event and any of the following are true

  1. You have charged for entry (prior ticket sales, at the door),
  2. You will be charging for alcohol,
  3. You will be having any fundraising activities, or
  4. The event is not private,

    You will need to obtain, pay for, and show proof of an ABC-221 Permit. Proof of permit must be given to Humphreys University no later than 72 hours prior to your event start time.

Amenities

  • 8-foot long tables or 72 inch round tables and plastic chairs are included in the rental fee.
  • Upon request we can provide: Microphone, Podium, Screen or TV, and/or Speaker.
  • Each space has adjacent bathroom facilities that will be stocked.
  • One or more HU staff will be on site to open and close the facilities, they will not be available to ‘work’ for you at your event.
  • Please note we do NOT have a kitchen in any of the rental spaces.

Rental Fee / Security Deposit

  • Your event is not confirmed until we have received the signed contract and the security deposit.
  • If you are paying by check, two separate checks should be written to Humphreys University.
    The first check should be for Security Deposit and second check for Rental Fee.
    If you are paying by credit/debit card, a link will be sent to you.
    A 4.0% fee will be applied to all credit/debit card transactions.
  • Your non-refundable Security Deposit and Rental Fee are due no later than one month prior to the event.
  • Your Security Deposit will be returned in full within two weeks of the event if there are no instances of damage.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If deposit has been collected, the deposit will be forfeited.

Music

  • Music allowed. Noise curfews must be followed.

Outside Vendors

If you are renting chairs or tables or bringing in a caterer or food truck, you must provide the name of the vendor(s) to Humphreys University. All vendors must have a business license or license to sell food. All outside vendors must be approved by Humphreys University. 

Prohibited

  • No pets
  • No open flame candles
  • No vendors or selling of goods
  • No gambling
  • No drugs are permitted inside any buildings or on the Humphreys University property
  • No smoking inside the campus (buildings or interior outdoor areas)
